Winery Ricco Hänsch

At a glance

The winery Ricco Hänsch is a young dynamic winery and is idyllically located in the Meißner Kapitelberg.

The winery was founded in 2005 by Ricco Hänsch. Together with his employees, the winemaker cultivates 2 hectares of vines on the Meißner Kapitelberg. The gentle south/southeast-facing slope on terraces supported by dry stone walls and the quickly warmable granite weathered soils create the optimal growth conditions for wines full of character. Through targeted yield reduction and dedication, Ricco Hänsch manages to get the best out of the grapes. His passion is for white wines. Currently, 5 excellent white grape varieties are cultivated: Müller-Thurgau, Kerner, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Traminer. A special feature of the winery is the possession of the oldest Müller-Thurgau vines in Saxony. Nature, passion, quality and a lot of heart are in the wines and this is reflected in every bottle. All grapes are elaborately hand-picked, selected and processed on site.
